Dr Pierre Lacroix
Director Since 1996

Co-Founder of Bioxel Pharma Inc., Dr. Pierre Lacroix has been a Member of the Corporation's the Board of Officers since 1996. He held the position of Chairman of the Board from 1996 to 2000.

He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering from Université Laval in 1966, a Master of Sciences from the same institution in 1967 and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Environmental Engineering from Purdue University in 1971. A Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec since 1966, he has more than 35 years of experience in the engineering and high-technology sectors. Subsequent to his university studies, Dr. Lacroix taught at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Ottawa in 1971 and 1972. His career path then led him to Environment Canada in Ottawa where he worked from 1972 to 1974. Dr. Lacroix joined Roche Ltd., Consulting Group in September 1974.

In his 26 years with the Roche Group, Dr. Lacroix developed expertise in the environmental, energy and natural resources management sectors, and was actively involved in growing the export markets of the company. Roche Group went on to become one of the leading construction engineering firms in Canada. Until early 2001, Dr. Lacroix was Chairman of the Board of Roche Ltd. and Senior Vice President, Operations in the Americas for The IT Group, a U.S. public corporation.

Dr. Lacroix held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Bioxel Pharma Inc. from October 1996 to January 2005, when he retired. He has since worked as a Special Advisor to Bioxel. From 1990 to 1992, Dr. Lacroix acted as Chairman of the Board of the Institut national de recherches scientifiques (INRS) of the Université du Québec. From 1996 to 1998, he was a Member of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). From 1997 to 2003, he was President of GATIQ Technorégion and Director of Pôle Québec Chaudière-Appalaches. Dr. Lacroix has been a Member of the Quebec Science and Technology Council since 2005. Finally, Dr. Lacroix currently acts as Advisor and Director for various high-technology companies.
