Dr. André Boulet is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Boreal Capital Inc., a Sipar Capital Group company. Prior to founding Boreal, Dr. Boulet was a partner at BioCapital S.E.C. (1996-2002), a Canadian biotechnology venture capital company, where he was in charge of investment strategies, business backgrounds, analyses, valuation, and negotiation of selected investments in private and listed companies. Dr. Boulet is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of Innovacor, a technology transfer company (Montreal Cardiology Institute).
He has a Bachelor of Medical Biology from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, as well as a Master (M.Sc.) in Experimental Medicine/Immunology-Immunochemistry and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Physiology/Endocrinology, both obtained at Université Laval. He also completed two years of post-doctoral studies in Biophysics/Biochemistry at the University of Pennsylvania and a pharmacoeconomics training program at York University ( England ).
In the course of his career, he has acquired international expertise in drug development, regulatory affairs, healthcare economics and corporate financing.
He has received a number of acknowledgements and honors, including the Ortho-Pharmaceutical Fundamental Research Award for two consecutive years. He was elected Faculty Member of the American Society of Hypertension, Inc. and has served on Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Committees, including the FDA Cardio-Renal CRADA Steering Committee whose role is to assess the potential use of ambulatory blood pressure monitoring data for new antihypertensive drug approval. Dr. Boulet has published more than 75 research-related manuscripts as well as several clinical research and healthcare economics reports. |
